Cargo bikes enjoyed particularly dynamic growth in the bike industry in recent years. The wide range of new models – from compact cargo bikes to commercial heavy-duty cargo bikes – introduced widespread innovation. There were many types of purchase incentives, and sharing systems and subscription models also became more widespread. At the same time, there was talk of stronger regulation at national and European levels, safety and service standards became more important, and the cargo bike and trailer industry had to prove itself in an increasingly challenging economic environment.
