Proxim Nembo Slide Control

Description

Nembo Slide Control is the new Proxim Powered by Prologo saddle born and perfected in collaboration with champions such as Nicolas Vouilloz (Lapierre Overvolt Team), the Atherton brothers and Wyn Masters (GT Continental Factory Racing).

A model with a racing soul, at the top end of Proxim's Performance line, designed for gravity disciplines, from All-mountain to Enduro, to Downhill.

The new ergonomic saddle features a flat shape and short, compact dimensions of 245x135mm; a wider nose to increase rider stability and bike control; and rounded rear shapes for easier entry and exit from the saddle.

The 3D "Slide Control" technology on the cover, increases the grip on the saddle, further increasing the control of the bike during both pedaling and off-saddle riding.

For those seeking greater comfort, a 145mm wide version is also available, with increased padding.

The padding on both models is made of variable-density foams to provide maximum support and ensure optimum comfort while pedaling, absorbing vibrations and shocks.

The Nembo Slide Control features a wide central channel, along the entire length of the saddle, with the Active Base system: a holed base in the center, underneath the padding, that can reduce pressure points but still provide good protection from dirt and stones lifted from the rear wheel.

The base is made of carbon-injected nylon and features increased thicknesses for more flexibility and strength, key features for gravity use.
The Tirox rail is made by light-alloy steel, a material with an excellent balance between lightness and strength, ideal for riders who are more concerned about component weight.

Trade fair innovation

Prologo NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS

After launching in 2013 the first saddles with CPC technology, the patented system with three-dimensional conical nano-structures that increase grip and vibration absorption, we decided to extend the 3D technology to the entire saddle to make a new ultra-light model with an innovative multi-sector cover designed from pressure test analysis.

The NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS has the same ergonomic T-shape shape and compact dimensions (245x137 mm) of the NAGO R4, the new multi-disciplinary saddle already adopted by several professionals such as Tadej Pogačar, Mark Cavendish, Geraint Thomas, Pello Bilbao and Alberto Bettiol.

DESIGNED FROM THE ANALYSIS OF PRESSURE TESTS

NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS was born from the study of Pressure Map MyOwn tests, Prologo's proprietary system that allowed scientific analysis of the pressure areas exerted on the saddle by various professional and amateur cyclists.

The data collected made it possible to design and create an extremely lightweight 3D saddle, with a cover composed of separate sectors that can best adapt to the different pressure areas and ensure maximum support and comfort during all phases of pedaling.

3DMSS, THE MULTI SECTOR SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY BECOMES 3D

The cover of the new NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS combines MSS - Multi Sector System technology with an innovative 3D printing process, which made it possible to create five separate sectors for each side of the saddle, which can optimally adapt to the individual areas of pressure exerted and accommodate the cyclist's morphology.

Each sector has different complex geometric shapes, varying densities and differentiated elastic coefficients, depending on position and function:

  • the rear section, has a high density and a high elastic coefficient, to provide greater support to the ischial bones and facilitate the traction phase of pedaling;
  • the 3 middle sections, present low density and a medium elastic coefficient, to offer maximum comfort where the soft tissues rest;
  • the front section, presents a medium density and a low elastic coefficient to offer good support even when it is necessary to pedal at the tip of the saddle.

COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE, WITH RECORD WEIGHT FOR A 3D SADDLE

Part of our design efforts also focused on improving a typical weakness of saddles made in 3D, their weight, which is notoriously higher than that of traditional saddles.

Using data from the Pressure Map MyOwn tests, it was possible to identify areas of the saddle where the applied pressures were lower. The cover sections at these areas were made with specific 3D geometric shapes designed to be able to limit the material used, but without compromising comfort or limiting the saddle's performance.

The injected long-fiber carbon base and Nack (Nano Carbon Fiber) rail, help to further lower the overall weight, while still ensuring maximum stiffness.

The result? The weight of the new NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS is only 149 grams. The absolute lowest weight compared to all 3D models currently on the market.

Prologo Scratch NDR

Prologo Scratch NDR the ergonomic saddle specifically for Cross Country and Marathon riding

Born out from close collaboration with professionals of 8 MTB teams technical supported by Prologo, the Scratch NDR is the off-road evolution of the already established Scratch M5. A new saddle with racing DNA, designed specifically to compete and win in Cross Country and Marathon races at the highest level.

Designed to face all kinds of climbs

The Scratch NDR inherits from the Scratch family the compact dimensions (250mm x 140mm) and the Multi Sector System technology: different mapped and separated zones, with specific features and functions for XC and Marathon disciplines.

The two lateral-posterior sections, are designed to provide more stability and comfort when pedaling in a backward position on long climbs. The variable-density EVA foam padding is 3mm thicker in the rear section to provide maximum support. The cover of these sections is completely smooth, making it easier to move out of the saddle.

The innovative center-front section, on the other hand, is specially designed to tackle the steepest and most technical uphill passages, thanks to a large flat surface that provides a comfortable base of support even when it is necessary to pedal on the nose of the saddle. The cover features a horizontally textured Grip Cover in this section to maximize grip and help maintain a forward position on the saddle.

Anatomical shape for off-road disciplines

The anatomical shape of the new Scratch NDR has been redesigned to suit off-road disciplines, setting back the "anatomical center" by 5mm to increases the biker's freedom of movement, allowing him or her to easily vary the position in the saddle according to the type of trail being tackled.

Closed saddle with Active Base System
In order to provide a more coveted, flatter bearing surface in the center-front section, the Scratch NDR does not have a central drain channel. A solution that makes the saddle more comfortable when pedaling on the toe and offers more protection against any dirt and mud from the rear wheel.

The base of the new saddle is made of long-fiber carbon, with the characteristic Active Base System: a hole, underneath the padding, that allows for additional pressure relief and thus increases comfort while pedaling.

Different rails for different needs

For more performance-oriented bikers who seek a stiff saddle and the ultimate in lightness, the Scratch NDR is available in a version with Nack (Nano Carbon Fiber) rail composed of carbon fiber, Kevlar and aluminum filaments. A rail already widely adopted by Prologo for all top-of-the-line models, which reduces the saddle's overall weight to 166 g.

For those looking for more comfort, however, a second version is available, weighing 217gr, with TiroX rail made of light alloy steel, a material with an excellent balance between weight and strength, giving the saddle less stiffness and superior vibration absorption.
