Ariete fork oil seals are different! The quality of their execution is matched by the unique nature of the material used: the carboxylated elastomer known as XNBR.
This compound offers unique characteristics of resistance to abrasion, to high temperatures, and to the complex lubricants with numerous additives, which are used in modern forks.
The reciprocating action of the fork tube against the seal subjects it to a notable degree of abrasion, which is complicated by the heat generated as a result of hydraulic displacement within the fork, plus the friction of the components involved. This mechanical wear and tear leads to accelerated ageing of the rubber which is also obliged to deal with the chemical action of the various additives in the lubricant.
Oil seals are normally made from a nitrile rubber, known as NBR. This is used because it is cheap, and plentiful, not because NBR is the best material for the job.
Our technical staff have accumulated 75 years of experience in the rubber industry, and have spent many years looking for a better material for the manufacture of oil seals. Although the cost of XNBR is almost twice that of NBR, the sophisticated technology used to make our oil seals enables us to put them on the market at highly competitive prices. The unique combination of both an open and closed cell creates the perfect formula; the open cell absorb and retain the lubrificating fluid whilst the closed cells ensure an excellent elastic return. working in tandem, the closed cells release the fluid from the open cells, improving the lubrication of the fork tube overall leaving a smoother action.

SAG RING
The term SAG refers to how much your suspension sits into it’s travel just by having your body weight on it with both feet off the ground.
SAG RING is used to indicate rider sag when setting up mountain bike suspension components and to demonstrate the amount of travel being utilized while riding.

Stones, pavements, rough terrain, but even more so the lava rocks, which with their typical primeval look provide a decidedly innovative characteristic to its design, becoming the distinctive point of these new Ariete handlebar grips.

Designed to offer the best grip while riding in challenging conditions, the handlebar grips of the Basalto line provide the Rider with the pleasant feeling of a solid and natural bond between the ground and the handlebars, a bond that translates into a perfect continuity with the outdoor space, and on which our technicians, in collaboration with Designer Alberto Caimi, have focused to define the essential construction elements.

The pattern is the result of the study of the geological lines of magmatic rocks, with the surface motif of the handlebar grips being obtained by carving into the mold with the D.R.E. Design Rendering Engineering laser engraving technology. At first glance, all the individual elements are visible in relief to show how precisely this new texture was created, hinting at the idea of tiny rock chips on rubber.Beyond just grip and aesthetics were considered, and the Basalto handlebar grips are made from a very high quality family of thermoplastic elastomers, which, thanks to their molecular structure, based on styrene block copolymers, give the product not only durability, but at also the elasticity needed to achieve that much sought-after shock absorber effect in the harshest conditions.

A handlebar grip made of these materials is extremely stable to UV, Ozone and weathering, and moreover, it retains its elasticity even at very low temperatures. Also ecologically important, it is possible to separate the rubber parts from the metal sealing ring, the Basalto handlebar grip can be properly disposed of after its use.

The feeling while riding is that of a cylindrical handlebar grip, apparently neutral in terms of stress distribution in the different areas of hand support, yet the central area has a more yield, ready to give back to the Rider the effect of a dynamic cushion acting on the forces developed by the strong pressure exerted by the hands.

The body of the Basalto handlebar grip is designed for easy assembly on the handlebar. The presence of the clamping collar makes the system fast and effective; and the clamping screw is M4, made of steel and includes a threadlock treatment, installed with a tightening torque of 3.0 N/m.The collar is made of aluminum painted with an ED Coating treatment and can be colored and customized upon the customer’s request.

THERMO SYSTEM: ADAPTIVE AND INTEGRATED

The possibility of having heated grips is now increasingly popular as the trend is to use E-bikes in even colder temperatures. The Thermo System is a fully integrated product that utilizes the electronic controller already on the bike and provides the signals for setting optimal grip temperatures.

The advantage of the Thermo project lies in the wide possibility of customization by the drive unit manufacturer. From the display, you can manage all of the information relating to the grip temperatures in a completely integrated manner. The sensor in the grips can detect the temperature of the system and adjust the electronic circuit for accurate temperature management.

The Thermo heated grip has been designed to allow the minimal energy use. During the operation the system is able to maintain the control of the temperature set by the user, adapting the power supplied. The adaptive management is based on the principle of continuous temperature regulation through the exchange of data with the control electronics. Thanking to this system, the battery consumption is absolutely negligible.
