Hiline

Description

Full speed downhill on rugged singletrack, big air at the bike park, and speeding round berms like you’re on rails – enduro biking is lots of fun. But it also takes its toll on riders and their gear too. So mountain bike backpacks for enduro need to be able to take a beating if they’re up to the challenge. This ultimate partner for gnarly downhill riding combines the latest 3D printed Airstripes back system with a snug, compact fit, and spine protection – setting the bar high when it comes to both safety and functionality.

German backpack pioneer deuter worked together with its Pro Team members to analyze what makes a good enduro backpack that can handle the most challenging conditions. And the new Hiline is the result. When it came to product development, ‘safety first’ was the motto. Because if you’re going over jumps or riding slippery, gnarled tree roots, taking a spill is not out of the question. By teaming up with Oechsler, a leading polymer technology company, deuter has come up with the back system of the future. Based on its proven Airstripes back system, the foam element is now replaced with a 3D printed, open-cell structure made from EPU. This has multiple advantages. The memory foam back protector that was previously built into the pack has been replaced with a narrower, lighter weight TÜV and GS certified spine protector that molds to the shape of the back and offers more focused multi-impact protection. Following a crash the protector automatically returns to its original shape. An impact does not damage the protector, and it can be used again.

When it comes to bumpy trails and cross-country, the second most important aspect aside from protection, is a good fit. And this is where the Hiline also shines. The EPU material of the back padding molds precisely to the shape of the back and, combined with the vest-style shoulder straps and the adjustable elastic sternum strap and waist belt, creates a wrapping fit. This keeps the load close to the body’s center of gravity, even when you’re pushing hard. And that’s important for keeping your balance.

The new Airstripes back system has spaces between the padding for ventilation. And the new 3D-printed back pads are also more air permeable than ever to keep air moving across the back.

So on top of providing reliable protection, a comfortable carry, and improved ventilation, the 3D printer technology used for this latest innovation in back systems also cuts down weight. Combined with the use of lightweight materials and an overall reduction in materials, the result is outstanding comfort for the weight. The precise nature of 3D printing technology cuts waste (down to max. 3%) compared to previous methods. And the body fabric which is recycled and environmentally responsibly manufactured gives the Hiline better sustainability credentials and efficiencies. This bluesign® accredited product is Green Button certified and ClimatePartner certified. And naturally, none of the materials contain any per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

The clear organization of the Hiline is also a winner. Inside, there’s space for a large hydration bladder up to 3 liters. There’s a cell phone pocket, a pump attachment, and a full-face compatible helmet holder, safety whistle, and glasses stow system – making the Hiline a real ‘highflyer’. For minimalists, the Hiline is available in an 8-liter version. Or for those needing a little more space, there’s a 14-liter Hiline.

Attack

deuter: The Attack turns 20 — the ultimate mountain biking backpack celebrates with a new back protector

The deuter Attack mountain biking backpack has been dominating the most challenging trails for the past two decades. So, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, deuter is launching the Attack in a new look and with a special back protector, developed in collaboration with RE ZRO®. As well as celebrating this iconic pack, deuter is yet again demonstrating its expertise, innovation and dedication to mountain bike backpacks that are built for performance, safety and sustainability in equal measure.

At the heart of the anniversary edition Attack is a removable back protector designed in collaboration with RE ZRO®. This multi-impact back protector helps soften the blow during a crash and is made from highly flexible, lightweight TPE material that not only offers outstanding protection, but also benefits from a porous, air permeable structure. Which means it’s comfortable to wear even on long rides and fast-flowing downhills. This flexible protector molds to the shape of your back for unrestricted freedom of movement. And the best bit: the protector is also fully recyclable and biodegradable. Which makes the Attack a responsible choice for environmentally conscious bikers.

The Attack’s proven Airstripes back system has a reduced contact surface for exceptional airflow. The ventilation channel in the back, plus the perforated hip fins and breathable shoulder straps make it both comfortable to carry and effective at dissipating sweat – perfect for challenging trails and long days out in the heat.

The streamlined shape of the pack itself, works together with the ergonomically formed, padded shoulder straps and the load stabilizer straps to create a compact, dynamic position for the pack, which gives it a secure feel for maintaining good balance on the toughest downhill trails. The hip fins are fitted with an elasticated belt for additional support without restricting movement. These are designed to distribute the load onto the hips and therefore relieve strain on the shoulders and back – especially important over bumpy terrain.

Its many useful features make the Attack the ideal companion for mountain bikers looking for a technical pack. Modular bungee cords and attachment loops can be used to secure items like a helmet, protective gear or tools. It’s compatible with a bladder system (up to 3 liters) so hydration on the move is taken care of. And the Attack comes with a rain cover to keep contents dry, so that riders can count on it no matter what the weather.

The cleverly conceived Attack comes in sizes 14 SL, 16, 18 SL, 20 and 22 EL and carries TÜV SÜD & GS certification. It’s a bluesign® product, Green Button certified, and made without PFAS. And, like all deuter products from summer 2025, it is also ClimatePartner certified, making it a responsible choice for all your mountain adventures on two wheels. Simply put, the Attack has everything a mountain biker needs – maximum protection, maximum comfort and sustainable manufacture.

Visby

deuter: Visby – hard-wearing, sustainably designed bike pannier

The trend for sustainable, long-lasting and functional outdoor products continues unabated. In particular when it comes to urban commuting and cycle touring, there’s increasing demand for reliable gear that can withstand the elements but is also kinder to the environment. Now, backpack specialist, deuter, has ploughed its extensive experience in bike products into creating the Visby pannier. In a clean, practical design, this waterproof drybag-style pannier is made from tough materials, has clever functional details and is made with sustainability in mind – making it the perfect choice for cycle touring or commuting.

The Visby bike pannier from deuter boasts clever functional details that make it a versatile piece of gear for everyday use as well as on longer cycle tours. Its wide roll-top opening makes it easy to use and can be buckled shut either in the center or at the sides. The roll-top also allows the volume to be expanded by an extra 5 liters, for when you need more space for gear, luggage or shopping. Inside, there’s a separate valuables pocket and document compartment to keep your possessions well organized, while two D-rings and gear loops can be used to attach other gear to the outside of the bag.

The Visby comes with the latest version of our BagFix quick-release system, which attaches the bag precisely and securely to the bike rack. Two hooks in the top mounting rail keep it in place, while six spacers that come with it (8-10 / 10-12 / 12-14 mm) means it can be adapted to fit a wide range of rack diameters. And the curved hook on the bottom rail anchors the bag securely onto the bike rack bars, preventing it from swaying around corners.

The hard-wearing TPU material and radio frequency welded seams keep contents dry on the move. The Visby meets IPX4 waterproof standards, so will even perform in heavy rain. Its reinforced edges give it added durability, while reflective detailing offers improved visibility in low light and traffic areas. A detachable shoulder strap means this bag is easy to carry from and to your bike (on either shoulder).

As always, the sustainability of deuter’s products is a main focal point. And the Visby is no exception. It’s made from recycled materials, is an accredited bluesign® product and is made without PFAS. It’s also ClimatePartner and Green Button certified — showing a clear commitment to responsible manufacturing and environmentally friendly cycling.

Rogla

The Rogla – a vest-style backpack for longer gravel and XC mountain biking

They are ultra light, fit like a second skin, and offer excellent ventilation. Vest-style backpacks are already the norm for trail runners. But now these practical lightweight packs are being adopted by cyclists too. The Rogla 5 from deuter is the perfect solution for enduro gravel and mountain biking adventures. With space for a 2-liter hydration bladder plus a rain jacket, energy bars, cell phone and tool kit – it certainly packs a big punch for such a small pack!

Keeping a low center of gravity – and then pedaling as hard as your legs will go. Ambitious gravel and XC mountain bikers need to maintain a dynamic position in the saddle. And so, standard touring or enduro backpacks are not always the best solution. In situations where minimal weight and maximum maneuverability are required, they can be too cumbersome. So what next? Do away with a backpack? But that’s not ideal either. Especially during the hotter months of the year, you need to carry more hydration, not less. And bike frames often can’t accommodate two big bottles. So you’re best off carrying your hydration supplies on your back. The new ultralight, body-hugging deuter Rogla 5 is made for the job. It has space for a 2-liter hydration bladder and anything else you need on long day rides with minimal gear.

What makes the deuter Rogla 5 stand out compared to other bike backpacks is its vest-style design that creates an aerodynamic fit, like a second skin. And it weighs just 350 grams, which means you hardly know you’re wearing it, so can move freely. Individually adjustable sternum straps and an elastic side strap under the ribs, mean you can adjust the Rogla 5 and its load precisely to the shape of your torso. It also means your breath is unrestricted no matter how hard you push. The Rogla 5 is perfect for amateur racing like gravel races or bike marathons. The vest design also ensures free access to your jersey pockets.

Perforated shoulder straps and a lightweight back system with breathable mesh material and ventilation slits keep it light and airy on the body. Which in turn maintains a constant body temperature and more consistent performance. Multiple pockets on the shoulder straps ensure quick access to a cell phone, energy bars or gels. And the designers at deuter have also included a glasses stow system, bicycle pump attachment, and helmet attachments. Plus reflective details for increased visibility in low light. So this light little pack is no ‘lightweight’ when it comes to features.

Like all deuter backpacks, the materials used for the Rogla 5 are free from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). As a bluesign® accredited product, it is also a great choice where sustainability is concerned. As demonstrated by its Green Button and ClimatePartner certification.
