Description

"ENGINEERING BEYOND LIMITS"

In 2025, VISION introduces its first full-carbon wheelset, officially positioning the brand to compete with the most important and historical wheel manufacturers. Design, production, hand assembly, and testing are the most important and primary processes. VISION is one of the few component brands able to finalize and manage every single production step internally. This represents a unique asset that allows VISION to monitor every single process, meticulously controlled from research and development to the assembly line.

The Metron RS wheels are the fastest and most aerodynamic product line manufactured by Vision, for those who ride without compromise and demand every watt and gram advantage to have the fastest bike possible. That’s not a surprise that many Metron components can be found at the top level of professional road and triathlon racing, giving athletes the competitive edge to win!

The main features of the Metron RS wheels include:

  • Full carbon rim
  • Rim depth of 45mm and 60mm
  • Tubeless ready - clincher rim
  • P.R.S. hubs with DP spokes
  • Centerlock rotor mount
  • 6 sealed cartridge bearings (2F + 4R)
  • Aero bladed carbon spokes
  • Artisan built, entirely by hand
  • In-mold graphics

The Metron RS wheels offer a reduction in the weight of rotating parts, improving acceleration and the inertial force applied by the athlete. They are 7% lighter compared to the Metron SL and feature improved lateral and torsional stiffness, reducing energy dispersion and increasing pedaling efficiency.

The new Metron RS wheels feature as well a new special box, designed to provide a premium look and feel, with a increased size to prevent transportation damage; the new package can be used as well as a product display.

Talking about aerodynamics, the wind tunnel testing performed on the Metron RS wheels shows a slight decrease in drag (-0.9W for Metron 60 RS and -1.6W for Metron 45 RS) compared to the Metron SL wheels (previous top-tier product). This means that Metron 45 RS are 9% faster while Metron 60 RS are 6% faster compared to the previous generation of wheels. Additionally, the 28mm tires show a significant aero improvement in both drag value and drag behavior compared to past tests with 23mm and 25mm tires.

The Metron RS wheels also show a comparable side force-lift to the Metron SL wheels, meaning that better aero performance won't compromise stability and handling performance – this happens as well thanks to the round shape of the new carbon spokes which doesn’t create any additional turbulence compared to sharper spokes. The improved lateral and torsional stiffness of the Metron RS wheels means less energy dispersion and increased pedaling efficiency, resulting in faster acceleration.

VISION has made significant investments in technology, with the PRS standard hub upgraded and redesigned using a 72-tooth (5° engagement angle) CNC-machined system. To make it clear, both FSA (MTB) and VISION (Road – Gravel) wheel ranges are now equipped with this technology.

GRADIENT RANGE

Since 2013, Gradient has been the benchmark for riders seeking the perfect balance between lightness, strength, and performance. The 2025 range marks a new chapter, the result of years of research and development, with direct input from world-class athletes from the Atherton Racing Team.

FSA has completely revamped the Gradient design, introducing a new logo featuring the brand’s iconic "three stripes" and a minimalist black-on-black aesthetic. But the real leap forward comes with the technology applied to the new components, developed across Europe, the United States, and Taiwan to ensure uncompromising performance.

One of the most anticipated novelties, the Gradient i30 wheelset, stands out with its hookless carbon rim featuring variable height (22-24 mm) and a 30 mm internal width, designed to enhance comfort and stability on all terrains. The asymmetric design ensures better spoke tension balance, while the PRS X-900 hubs with 72 engagement points provide immediate acceleration response.

Thanks to a combination of advanced carbon layup and innovative engineering, the i30 not only reduces the risk of punctures with its reinforced 3.5 mm walls but also offers excellent compatibility with anti-puncture inserts.

Switching to the cockpit, the new Gradient Carbon Handlebar is designed to maximize control and vibration absorption, ensuring precision handling even in the roughest conditions. With an optimal blend of stiffness and compliance, this handlebar provides a responsive feel while minimizing fatigue on long descents.

For riders who prefer a robust and budget-friendly option, FSA also offers the Gradient Alloy Handlebar. Constructed from high-strength aluminum, it maintains excellent durability while offering a slightly more compliant feel compared to its carbon counterpart. While the carbon version excels in weight savings and enhanced damping properties, the alloy bar provides extra impact resistance, making it a great choice for aggressive riders tackling rough terrain.

At the core of the drivetrain, the Gradient Crankset has been redesigned to deliver superior power transfer while maintaining an impressive strength-to-weight ratio. Utilizing hollow carbon construction, these cranks offer optimal stiffness without unnecessary weight, making them ideal for tackling steep climbs and explosive sprints.

A modular design allows compatibility with a wide range of chainrings, giving riders the flexibility to fine-tune their setup based on terrain and riding discipline. Additionally, the reinforced pedal interface ensures durability under extreme pedaling forces.

Every component of the new Gradient range has been tested and refined with direct input from the most demanding athletes. Gee, Rachel, and Dan Atherton, along with Charlie Hatton, provided valuable feedback throughout the development process, pushing FSA to redefine reliability and performance standards for Enduro and Downhill.

FSA’s approach goes beyond individual components, aiming for seamless integration between handlebars, stems, cranksets, and wheels. Every element of the Gradient line is designed to deliver superior riding feel, enhancing the connection between bike and rider.

With the new Gradient range, FSA reaffirms its role as an innovator in the Gravity world. By combining design, cutting-edge materials, and athlete-driven development, this lineup represents the future of Enduro and Downhill racing. An invitation to riders seeking the best technology to push their limits.
